Review: Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream & GIVEAWAY!

A non-greasy, oil-free night cream enriched with Seaweed, Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid to soften, hydrate and nourish the skin without clogging pores. It leaves the skin feeling soft and silky. - Mario Badescu website

Today I've got a bit of a special post for you all! It's not often I do skincare reviews on this blog because I simply use very few products and rarely try new ones, since my skin is so sensitive. Recently I was contacted by the brand Mario Badescu, asking me if I would want to try a product for them to review. I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous, because every time I try a new skincare product, their is a huge chance of my skin freaking out. I told them what type of skin I had, and they assured me that the Seaweed Night Cream would be great for me, since it works for all skin types (even my combination skin), and it also will NOT break me out. Within just a few days, a little brown box was sitting at my doorstep, with the lovely little night cream inside. This night cream costs $20 on the Mario Badescu website, and you get one full ounce of product. That may seem expensive to some people, but if you look at the price of most higher end skincare, it's double or even triple the prices of this product. Plus, you only need a tiny dab to cover your whole face, so it will last an extremely long time. The first night I had this product in my possession, I dove right in. First, I removed my makeup with my normal Yes to Cucumbers face wipes, and then washed my face with my daily cleanser, Neutrogena Ultra Gentle. As the last step, I applied this cream to my whole face, avoiding the eye area like the website says.

One word - perfection. This product does not break me out at all, or cause my skin to do anything weird, like so many other products do. The scent is really yummy and comforting, but it's not super strong or intense. It smells just like you would expect a high-end moisturizer to smell. The texture is really creamy and whipped, and like I mentioned above, you really only need a tiny dab to cover your whole face. My skin is combination so it can be hard to find a product that works for both my oily areas and dry areas,  but this really does. It moisturizes and hydrates my whole face, but doesn't make oily areas more oily. It may seem a little heavy or oily at first, but it absorbs within minutes, leaving my face dewy but not oily, and really hydrated and smooth. Oh and by the way, this cream looks like a light green, but applied to the skin, it blends in to be totally clear.

I would say this product has become a new holy-grail item for me. It's one of those things that just works so well and does exactly what it's supposed to do, that you wonder why it didn't come into your life sooner. I love the yummy scent and the fact that this product doesn't break me out is a miracle in itself. I'd definitely like to thank Mario Badescu for allowing me to try this product, and I know I'm going to be a customer in the future. Now for the fun part, the giveaway!!
